Introduction:
Each player is a warlord general set in a fantasy world called Cìneal. King Loymne, who conquered all the known Lands has passed away and left no heirs. The realm is now at civil war, therefore, this is your opportunity to mark your place in the world and become the usurper.
Starting from one location and controlling a rebel group, each player will have to expand, compete and command their armies in order to be the new ruler.
To claim this title and win the game a player must be the first to have all 8 capital cities of Cìneal under their control.

Each one is in a region of land full of obstacles and warfare. The regions have different soldiers, beasts, war-machines, weapons and armour for players to recruit and customise to assist in the task of conquering Cìneal. Players will have to travel to each capital city, take over and defend it against others.
How the game briefly works:
2-8 players
The game operates on two platforms. There’s the world map board split into different regions of land which players will take turns to build armies, take control over strongholds and execute their strategies in order to win against the other players.

When players clash on the world map their fight is settled on the battle board. A two level 8 x 8 squared board where the players armies fight in a turn based mini game using the soldiers and upgrades they have recruited from the world map board.

Your general will be able to recruit different soldiers and equipment and combined these together to create different units to use in battle.

Making it a digital world
The game has gone through vigorous testing and development changes. Elements of the game have been transformed into digital assets which will be included in an app we are currently developing.

The new updated app will combine the character creation process with the generals handbook folders. Meaning that the combat recruiting cards will no longer be needed.

“I’m working tirelessly to ensure a new updated version of Usurper is ready to be played very soon.
My next steps are to continue to gather digital assets for the app being developed, refine the rules and character creation and create a new working prototype with new game-boards and pieces that will look closer to the finished game.
I want the experience of playing Usurper to feel as though you are transported to another world. I want you to feel the stakes fighting over the fate of these fantasy kingdoms. Get ready to gather your friends and fallout with them as you crush them in Usurper”, Luke Goodwin
